Bad Day
I am having a bad day. I checked my e-mail spam folder, and there are 415 messages in it. That's only the beginning of it. I got the bill from my Internet Service Provider, and I find out that they are charging me for TWO Internet connections. A few months ago, I got a call that I could have a free month of DSL and then 3 months at a reduced rate. The bill came today, and I was charged for DSL AND Dialup. In addition to that they were charging me $10 extra for two e-mail boxes that came with the original dial-up package. When I was trying to retrieve some files that had been deleted, I downloaded a $50 program and it didn't work. Now I have to go through the trouble of having it taken off my credit card. We needed our marriage license and birth certificates for my husbands retirement papers, and we went down to the safe deposit box today to get them. None of the papers were there. I know we had them when we got our passports. I do have the passports, but I have no idea where the other paper are. That means we have to send off for more copies. So I decided to work on my website. I was updating a page and found out that I cannot get the Javascript to work on my computer. It makes me wonder if it works on anybody else's computer. It's enough to throw in the towel with the computer, a feeling that I get more and more lately. Tuesday, July 20, 2004
Spam UGH
I don't get all that much spam these days (between spamcop and hiding my e-mail address).... but I know ISPs must be having problems. *My* local ISP is now bouncing my Yahoo groups messages. I didn't realize that I hadn't gotten a message from the group since July 4 because we've been on vacation, and I still had several hundred messages in my INBOX when I got home. Error on bounced messages:Remote host said: 550 5.7.1 What exactly does that mean? Group messages were bounced, but messages to the moderator still got through. I wish I knew a way to set up an e-mail address that will allow my Yahoo mail to get through without being trapped in spam filters or bounced. This is so aggravating. I like to keep a copy of all the groups messages. It makes it so much easier to search for information on my harddrive, rather than doing it on the group. If I want to have a copy of the NINE HUNDRED messages that have posted in the past month, I will have to download them one at a time... and using dial-up, that is going to TAKE FOREVER! |
