Here we go again

Here I sit in Keith's cold office using his computer because mine is in the shop again.  Why is it that I always find something wrong with it on a weekend, and they can't get to it until Monday?

So what is it this time?  I don't know how long this has been going on, but I noticed Saturday morning that my computer wasn't recognizing the CD Drives.  I hadn't used my CD Drives or burned a CD since I got the computer back from when the modem messed up last time.  So, I don't know if they were somehow dropped when the two extra USB ports were added to make up for the two in the front that didn't work.

Joker Dot Com

I'm not the only one who has perils with computers.  It seems that spamcop has had their domain shut down by their registrar, http://www.joker.com/.  Yes, that's for real, and spamcop said they had had good service up until now.

Apparently the problem has been fixed, but I have an inkling that spamcop won't keep playing jokers wild anymore.

Spam, spam, and more spam

Today when I went to spamcop to check the spam, I had 234 messages in my held mail folder.  I check my e-mail every day; so these messages have piled up since yesterday.  I decided to write in my blog first (and complain) before tackling them.  I don't have to deal with it right now, but if I don't, there will be even more tomorrow.  I have a few good messages in the bunch, so I don't want to just delete them all.  I see I have one message from someone at the Open Directory. :)

Out of the 234 messages, only 5 were not spam.  Another 16 messages I had to open because I couldn't tell if they were spam or not.  The whole process took 40 minutes; although I was multitasking while I waited for the browser to refresh after deleting a page of messages.
