Brendon, Pam, and I arrived home last night on Alaska Airlines flight 91. I was so relieved to look down the escalator and see Keith waiting. Next to him was Pam's Mom, uncle, nephew and sister. I am so exhausted. I was happy to hand Brendon over to his other grandmother, Roberta.
Pam's sister, Shenella, had on a bright pink parka. Brendon was fascinated by her. While we were sitting outside the terminal waiting for Todd to arrive with the truck, Roberta had Brendon covered with a blanket. He would wriggle and strain until he could see Shenella again. She and Pam's nephew, Harley, played games with the luggage, pushing them around and pretending the wheeled suitcases were vacuum cleaners.
I had my mother-in-law, Brendon's great-grandma take me to the library so I could change our reservations to go home. I didn't dare drive with no driver's license. We need to stay another week so that the doctor can see Brendon on April 9.
We were scheduled to leave today. :)
You wouldn't believe Brendon is the same baby that you saw on Saturday. By the time we left on Monday, he was smiling. Now he laughs out loud. He can sit up by himself again, and he rolls over, and over, and over to get to where he wants.
He is still in some pain, and we give him Tylenol with codeine two or three times a day when nothing else will comfort him.
Yesterday Brendon was released from the hospital. We thought he was going to be out on Sunday, but I guess the doctor counts four days differently than I do. ;) Pam called and said to pick her up at noon. By the time the paperwork was finished, the blood tests were done, and the doctor signed off, the social worker gave us last minute instructions, and the nurse explained the doctor's orders, and we got a follow-up appointment for next week, it was after 4:30 p.m.
We went out to dinner to celebrate. When I reached for my bag to get my credit card to pay for the bill, it was gone. My credit card holder was gone and my driver's license holder was gone, too. Oh dear, maybe I should continue this in the Perils of Pamela....gotta go for now. I'm standing in a Circuit City store in Culver City, CA, and my feet are killing me.
