When Keith and I went to the fair on Saturday, I puchased a cane to help me walk. By Monday, my knee was still hurting; so I called to make an appointment to have it examined. The soonest I could get in was Saturday.
I saw a PA, and he ordered several X-rays. They showed arthritis behind my knee. However, the pain I was having indicated something was torn, too. So I had an MRI on Wednesday. I'll get the results next week.
Our summer has not been strange. At least nothing like the Midwest got this year. We got a little more rain in July than is average (record rain, actually). We had a nice spell of warm weather, too. August is always a bit drizzly, and this year is no different.
However, at this moment the sun shines through the window and warms my fingers on the keyboard. The trees are vivid green from the extra rain we got in July. The sky is robin's egg blue with a few scattered stratus and cirrus clouds.
Last week we had a bad storm that blew down a few power lines. Today the air is absolutely still.
I'm feeling a bit melancholy today. On Mondays, I'm usually resting up from a weekend with Brendon. We only saw him last night for a couple of hours. It's not the same as having him day and night for three days. We've been keeping him two or three days a week for months. I was with him for a whole month while we were in California for his surgery. My heart is suffering from Brendon withdrawal pains.
What a beautiful, glorious day this is! The sun is shining through every window. The house is warmed by the solar gain. The past two weeks have been rainy, and don't get me wrong, we needed the rain. And there's nothing more I like to do than snuggle under the covers and read a good book while it's raining, but I'm amazed at how the sunshine has lifted my spirits. I can leave the drapes and windows open because outside it's a comfortable 71 degrees and the forest fires were put out by the rain.
