Amanda
Amanda

When I was a little girl, I wanted to be a ballerina.  A few years ago I took a ballet class at the Fairbanks Summer Arts Festival, and it was the fulfillment of my childhood dream.

Amanda bear came to Alaska from Ohio.  Even though this bear was drawn by Mary to represent Anna's daughter, I have a great-niece named "Amanda", too.

Gaby's Susi Bear
  Susi Bear

Gaby's cottage is in Germany.  Susi looks like she is dressed in traditional German dress.  When I was a little girl, my father would bring me dolls from all the countries that he visited in Europe.  You see, I lived in Germany when I was a little girl.  I hope I can go back there someday to visit.

Daisy

Daisy tended the garden at Kay's cottage in southern California, and her flowers flourished.  She comes to Alaska with an armful of daisies and a heart full of love.

Since Alaska Shasta daisies are a perennial flower in Fairbanks, she will have plenty of fresh blooms to gather. This effervescent white flower with cheerful yellow centers was named after Mount Shasta, California, around 1893.
