A Month Since the Earthquake

A month has passed, but I don't think much about the earthquake except when I feel an aftershock.  Then I tense up when I feel the quaking, but the feeling passes as quickly as the tremor.

Darkness

Today is the first day of December. We have five hours of daylight. The sun sets before the children get home from school. If you work in a windowless office from 9 to 5, you won't see daylight at all.
